During the Second World War, the Germans used fluoride as a tranquilizer in the Russian prison camps. At the same time, American members of the Communist Party met to discuss adding fluoride into the water supply, in order to bring about overall lethargy and thus ease the introduction and eventual dominance of Communism in America.
Over time, the cumulative effect of drinking water laced with sodium fluoride is a slow poisoning of a certain portion of the brain. This causes a submission of the will, so that the person loses the power to resist domination, and makes him completely vulnerable to whoever wishes to govern him. The terminology used in describing this process is “narcotising” the brain.
Fluoridated water was first introduced in 1954, and more than 50 years later about 200,000 tons a year are poured into the drinking water of tens of millions of blissfully unaware people, in thousands of cities across America. Fortunately, hundreds of cities are refusing to allow their citizenry to be poisoned, but the average consumer does not even realize that there is a problem.
Besides the mind-numbing effects, fluoride has also been shown to cause cancer. In 1977, studies were published showing that fluoridation is definitely linked to at least 10,000 cancer deaths each year. The researchers also discovered that of the more than 120 million Americans being poisoned yearly, fluoridation was shown to be a direct cause of arthritis in 40 million people, dental deformity in 8 million children, and allergic reactions in 2 million people.
Interestingly, 13 years earlier the same researchers had shown that fluoride caused bone cancer and increased the rate of oral cancer. Other research has shown that fluoride can induce tumors and cancers, and that it can stimulate the growth rate of existing tumors.
According to the researchers, Dr. Dean Burk, former head of the US National Cancer Institute’s cell chemistry section, and Dr. John Yiamouyiannis, a biochemist and president of the Safe Water Foundation, the results of these tests had been kept away from public knowledge up until the early 1990’s.
Nearly 15 years later, fluoride is still polluting the water supply of hundreds of major cities across the nation.
And if that wasn’t enough, nearly every toothpaste on the market still contains fluoride, and nearly any dentist urges parents to coat their children’s teeth with a “protective coating” of fluoride.
There are, of course, alternatives available. Bottled water is commonplace today, although there is mounting evidence that plastic containers are leaching toxins (phthalates) into the foods and beverages they contain.
And safe toothpaste can be found as well. One must take care to read the ingredients label carefully, however: other harmful ingredients are often used, even in the so-called “natural” brands of toothpaste. Beware of the warning labels on your toothpaste, and use caution when allowing children to brush!

Several studies have shown that high blood levels of iron are associated with an increased risk of suffering heart attacks and cancers, particularly those of the esophagus and bladder. A study from Harvard showed that it may be the meat source of iron, rather than just the iron itself, that causes the heart attacks and cancers.
People who eat a lot of meat, fish and chicken have higher blood levels of iron than vegetarians. The iron in meat, fish and chicken is called heme iron, which is absorbed at a very high level, around 10-20 percent. On the other hand, the iron that you get from plants is absorbed very poorly; only one to three percent of the iron from leafy green vegetables and other plant sources of iron is absorbed.
Even though there is an association between high iron levels and cancer and heart attacks, we do not know if the iron causes these diseases. You can find out if your iron level is too high by asking you doctor to draw blood for a test called transferrin iron binding saturation. People with a transferrin iron binding saturation of more than 60 percent are at increased risk for developing heart attacks and cancers. If your level is greater than 60 percent, you can reduce your intake of iron by restricting meat, fish, chicken and iron-supplemented foods, and you can get rid of extra iron by donating blood six or more times a year.
Hemochromatosis is an inherited condition in which a person stores too much iron. It is easily treated by donating blood periodically, and when that is done the person will lead a perfectly normal life. Problems only occur when the condition is not diagnosed.

OK, no more excuses. Here’s how to stop making everyone laugh behind your back after getting a whiff of your noxious breath.
Do you secretly fear that your breath is making people gag? Well you can stop the paranoia right now. Here’s how…
Step 1: Scrape your tongue
The first source of a rotten mouth is a tongue smothered in festering bacteria. If your tongue is fuzzy white, you can bet that that layer of filth is making your breath hideous. Scrap off that white coating with a soft toothbrush or a special tongue scraper- you can get one from any drugstore.
Step 2: Gargle with diluted hydrogen peroxide twice a day
After you scrap off those bacteria, you can mix one part water with one part hydrogen peroxide and gargle with it for 45 seconds. The hydrogen peroxide gets real foamy in your mouth, but it helps to kill the excess bacteria that make your breath stink.
Don’t overdo the hydrogen peroxide though. Give yourself 2-5 day breaks from the hydrogen peroxide because too much of this solution in your mouth can decompose the enamel on your teeth.
Step 3: Eat foods that make your breath smell better
There’s a ton of food you can eat to make your breath smell better. And the fact is, you usually smell like what you’re eating. Drink teas like peppermint, Moroccan mint, jasmine, hibiscus and lemon balm to freshen up your mouth. Don’t add sugar because you’ll totally ruin the cooling effect if you do.
Add fresh foods like ginger, parsley, cilantro and scallions to your meals. Make sure these foods are not cooked. Eating them raw helps restore the natural balance of colon bacteria, which ultimately leads to fresher breath.
Step 4: Empty your colon
OK, imagine this: your colon is directly tied to your mouth. If your colon is a filthy overcrowded cesspool, your breath will stink on an astronomical scale. That’s why stinky smells either go out the anus, seep through the skin, or puff out of the mouth. Which way do you prefer?
Eating bran will help you cleanse your colon. You can also try an herbal laxative. Whatever you do, do not take drug to get regular unless your doctor tells you to. That’s because most constipation drugs make your colon weaker and less efficient at pushing out the garbage and that’s the last thing you need.
One other thing, you always want to make sure that your stinky breath is not the result of some fungi invasion. Here’s a simple fungus test that you can use at home: First thing in the morning, spit into a class of water. Don’t drink this. Let the water set for the day. If at the end of the day, you see stringy white substances in the class, you could have a fungal infection.
Now, stop making people dizzy and start making them smile with your newfound methods for fearlessly fresh breath.

Shocking! According to the Canadian Cancer Society, there will be 145,500 new cases of cancer with an estimated 68,300 deaths occurring in 2004. That means on the day you are reading this, 187 people will die from cancer. Statistics also show that 80% of Canadians will have some form of heart disease. A chart from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation about risk factors states that 62.4% of heart disease is due to inadequate Fruit and Vegetable Consumption (66.8% for Alberta). In addition, over two million Canadians suffer from Diabetes, which puts them at a higher risk for heart-disease and stroke.
The functioning of our immune system has deteriorated by approximately 30% in the last twenty years and continues to drop at an alarming rate of about three percent per year. Is there a connection between health and nutrient consumption/absorption?
Everyone has busy lifestyles, whether we choose it that way or not. Our bodies are constantly under physical, emotional and environmental stress. To make matters worse, we starve ourselves by not providing our body with the nutrition it needs to function properly. We get little nutrition from food for a variety of reasons. The very convenient processed, ready-to-serve foods available at your corner store, such as cereals, pasta sauces, white bread, canned foods and pop etcetera, are far from nutritious.
We live in the age of science. The food industry makes our foods easy to prepare and inexpensive but with little thought about the nutritional value of the product. Canning, pasteurizing, milling, refining, you name it. Brand name products are created for profit. Lots of sugar, salt and countless additives and preservatives (chemicals) are added, not only to make the food taste better but more importantly from a business point of view, to extend the shelf life. And this market is still growing. These additives can seriously disrupt the natural chemical balance in our body, especially long-term. No wonder cancer and heart disease are on the rise to epidemic levels.
Even when we eat fresh fruits and vegetables, nutrient levels are considerably lower than fifty years ago. This is due to the fact that they are mass produced, genetically modified, picked prematurely (due to storing and transportation issues), extensive use of pesticides, and grown on eroded and nutrient starved lands. Most nutrients (phytonutrients) of fruits and vegetables remain in the roots until they mature. During ripening, the phytonutrients move from the roots into the fruit, slowing down the aging process. This is what makes strawberries turn red and bananas turn yellow. Naturopath Dr. Steve Nugent’s research showed that we need to eat about 52 peaches to get our daily recommended vitamin A, where in 1951 we only needed to eat about 2 to get the same amount. Try to fit that in our already busy lifestyles. And once the fresh produce has made its way into our house, we kill most nutrients by preparation; boiling, micro-waving, freezing etc. Steaming would be the better alternative.
Our health is related to nutrient consumption and absorption. The body protects, repairs, restores and defends itself through nutrients. You have to add supplements to your diet to get enough for your body to do all this work. Regular maintenance is a major key for longevity. Supplements are not intended to replace the need to eat a healthy diet, exercise and maintain a healthy body weight. However, a good supplement system gives your body the basics to keep the immune system up to speed, so our body is able to defend itself against illness, even just the flu. Also keep in mind that pharmaceutical drugs deplete your body from vital nutrients, which means it is even more crucial to take supplements.
What should you look for when buying supplements? Your body needs to recognize the nutrients as food in order to absorb them and send them to the proper systems of our immaculate structure. Synthetic vitamins are NOT absorbed in the body and can even do harm. This is yet another form of processed, test-tube created supplementation. Look for supplements that are food-based. You will more likely find it in a health food store than at the local drugstore.
One way to test if your vitamins dissolve properly is to mix warm water (about 8 fl. oz.) with eight table spoons of white vinegar, to stimulate stomach acid. Then add one of the tablets and check every 5 minutes. After 15 minutes it should be completely dissolved. If not, you are better off trying another brand. And keep in mind that vitamins are only one category of nutrients the body needs.
Drinking filtered water is also paramount to health. You require 50% - 75% of your body weight in ounces, depending on your activity level. Every cell in your body must be bathed in water, to carry nutrients through your system, to regulate temperature and to help eliminate waste. Drink your water in small sips, so your body gets time to absorb it. Small sips of warm water during your meal aids in digestion and chew your food thoroughly to mix it with saliva for better absorption.
Good health and proper nutrition can be yours if you just follow some simple rules; drink lots of water, eat a healthy diet, take food-based supplements, exercise regularly, get plenty of rest and live with a positive mind set.
