Oil Prices and Competition Bugs Textile Firms

Gepost door admin op 30/05/2008

The Rs.1,30,000 crore Indian textile industry is concerned of rising crude oil prices and fierce competition from China in world trade. The textile industry is less optimistic over their performance in coming quarter than it was in the July-September quarter. This is revealed by the third consecutive survey on Business Confidence of Indian textile industry for the quarter October to December 2005, conducted by YarnsandFibers.

The man-made fiber industry, in particular, is worried on the crude price front while cotton textile segment is content with the bumper cotton crop and low fiber prices. However, the entire textile segment is worried over competition from China, as it has cost advantage over India. Textile companies want Government policies to be favourable and in line those in the neighbouring textile nations. The Government also needs to work on infrastructure, labour and power reforms and friendlier fiscal and export policies to enhance competition. A majority of the firms surveyed have indicated that power supply and infrastructure bottlenecks would impede their performance in the current quarter. With trade barriers removed the textile Ministry has set an ambitious export target of US$50 billion by 2010. To achieve this, the industry needs an investment of about Rs.1,40,000 crore, a colossal task as current investments are just a trickle of the total requirement. Thus an environment has to be made conducive investments to flow.

Talking about domestic demand the Indian economy is posed to grow by 6.8-7.0% in 2005-06 over and above the 6.9% growth recorded in 2004-05. With two consecutive years posting generous growth in income levels, it is obvious that domestic demand is likely to expand significantly. However, inflationary trend may set in led by the high crude oil prices.

The YarnsandFibers’ third consecutive survey on Indian textile business confidence was held in early October. The three business confidence indices

- the YnFx Business Confidence Index (measure of future prospect), YnFx Current Business Status Index (measure of current status) and YnFx Business Margin Expectation Index (measure of pricing input and output) - which emerged from the survey explains the pessimism and constraints textile firms would face to enhance their performance.

The survey results reveal that textile firms are less optimistic over their likely performance in the current quarter of October to December 2005 compared to their aspirations and actual performance in the previous quarter. The YnFx Business Confidence Index for the quarter October to December 2005 stands at 81.6 while the current business status index for the July-September quarter is at 80.3. The Business Confidence Index for July-September quarter was a shade higher at 83.9 and even higher at 86.5 in the June quarter.

The YnFx Business Margin Expectation Index, which measures the firms pricing capabilities for their end product as well as for the inputs, stands at 50.7, implying that the margins from operation would be on average at the same levels.

An increasing number of firms are now indicating that the greatest source for enhancing their performance will be enter new markets with existing products. Developing new products and better pricing capabilities would continue to give them secular growth. A noticeable change is seen in the export destination in this survey. More firms are looking at Europe and USA as well as Middle East as major export destinations.

On the constraints front as many as nearly one-third of the survey respondents are of the opinion that inadequate power supply and infrastructure facilities would impede their growth in the current quarter.

By asking the customer you not only show them that you care but you also take the guess work out of customer services.

Market research helps you identify opportunities - If you are planning to operate a new service and want to know the preconceived attitudes people have then market research can help, not only in evaluating the potential for a new idea, but also by identify the areas where a marketing message needs to honed.

Market research will minimise risk - Market research can help shape a new product or service, identifying what is needed and ensure that the development of a product is highly focused towards demand.

Market research creates benchmarks and helps you measure your progress - Unless you measure you may not be able to gauge how well your business is performing. Early research may highlight glaring holes in your service or short falls in your product, regular market research will show if improvements are being made and, if positive, will help motivate a team.

BioDiesel Processor

Biodiesel Processor

Morph is a fully automatic portable Bio Diesel processor developed by the team at Simply Biofuels. Between June 2006 and March 2008 the management of Simply Biofuels headed by one of the world’s leading BioDiesel authorities, Dennis Thouless, designed and developed Morph using the principles behind the large processing technologies that had been deployed so successfully in a UK based 500,000 litres per week BioDiesel plant. In a combined project with CP Holdings, the biggest mid-market company in the South East of Engalnd and number 3 in Britain, Simply Biofuels completed the prototyping of the 500 litres per hour BioDiesel processor.

Bio Diesel for all

Launched under the brand name of Morph in April 2008 plans are already underway to work closely with organizations involved in the cultivation of local oil bearing crops on marginal land. Dennis Thouless - The ‘Father’ of the UK Bio-Diesel Industry In 2001, at an age when he should have been putting his feet up and enjoying a well earned retirement, Dennis Thouless pioneered Bio-Diesel processing in the UK and is now widely acknowledged to be a leading authority within the global bio-fuels industry, many considering him to be the father of the UK Biofuels industry. During the next 4 years Dennis developed a Bio-Diesel processing plant in Norfolk, which at its peak was the largest producer of the fuel in Europe (500,000 litres a week).

Dennis was aware that the environmental advantages resulting from using the fuel were in many ways negated by the production of carbon emissions resulting from wide geographic distribution of both the raw materials and the processed oils. In 2006 Dennis, now in his 70s, set out to design and build a portable, fully automatic small industrial bio-diesel plant, incorporating a full range of patented safety features. He reflects “I saw the future of bio-diesel being in the development of community projects; establishing local production capability, processing oil from locally grown crops and supplying Bio-Diesel to local businesses and consumers.” He continued “Safety is the key - we have incorporated unique design features to optimise safety throughout the process” Morph is a truly innovative system and is being heralded as the best and safest small volume Biofuels processing plant in the world.

Bio Diesel Standards

Morph Bio-Diesel meets both the rigorous EN14214 European quality standard and the EN590 standard for blended product which is the retail pump quality standard. “Many companies struggle to produce bio-diesel to the required standards” says Dennis, adding “Using our processing technology guarantees these standards will be met from the very first batch”. CP Holdings & IP Equipment Limited March 2008 Watford based CP Holdings acquired a controlling interest in the technology under the umbrella of its subsidiary IP Equipment have now acquired a controlling interest in Simply Biofuels.

Home Based Business - Is It REALLY For You?

Gepost door admin op 02/04/2008

This question is one you have to ask yourself before you even start moving in this direction. Honest truth about yourself will tell you much more than you think. We all would like to pride ourselves with ability to work long hours, been dedicated to what we do even if we hate it. But when you decide to take a step toward creating something on your own - landscape can drastically change!

There will be no boss to tell you what to do, no clear defined hours of work and no one to care if you have finished the workload planned or not. It’s all going to be YOU.

YOU have to determine direction of your new project.

YOU have to determine HOW to do it.

YOU have to dedicate your hours to it.

YOU will have to force yourself to be persistent and meet goals set for yourself.

And in all cases YOU, single-handedly, will be responsible for success or failure.

If you think YOU have what it takes, get ready to dig in. While honest internet business is not as easy as many scam artists wants you to believe - it is not that hard. Anyone can do it, literally! What amazes me is the amount of e-mails I get from Feedback page on my main site with requests to tell people - “What is the best home based business?” Wordage might vary but the underlying question is almost always same. And here is my answer:

You have to decide it for your own self!

There are many ways to earn on Internet. And many people who try one or another program will swear by it as absolute must do. Reality is that you have to go with what you know and what you can do best. No single program will fit every type of person. I do not even pretend to be an expert marketer or salesman. I simply try different programs that I think will be best fit with my knowledge and life experience and then try to make them work. I DO NOT succeed every time. I have had my share of failure and lost money but I just keep going until I find something that fits well with my interest and now I’m seeing some fairly good results.

So here are some start-up ideas:

1. MLM. So many people try and fail it and yet they do work. If your sales skills are good or if you are active in community of people with similar interest - it might be one of the lowest costs or even free startups to get going.

2. Surveys. I haven’t tried them myself but I’m affiliated with couple of them and had some positive feedback from few people who tried them. So if you don’t mind sharing your personal experiences - perhaps you should try it.

3. Affiliate marketing. Have a website or ability to share your thoughts? You can quite easily make money using this model - I do. Just the PPC ads on your site along can bring you a fair compensation for your work, not counting any affiliate sales you make.

4. Drop Shipping Sales. This is one of the favorites and when using good wholesale sources can also be one of the most rewarding options. Just make sure you get as much info as you can before diving into it. Scam artists love this one and will try to get your hard earned cash for every peace of information. Visit my site for free eBook on the subject and certified, reliable wholesale dropshippers publisher.

Information above is only mean as a short startup strategy. Visit my site for more detailed information and tons of FREE ebooks and helpful guides to ecommerce, affiliate marketing and much more.
