Mobile broadband is all set to face massive growth in the coming years. According to the new figures which were released recently by the research group, Analysys Mason, mobile broadband will leave behind the fixed line and DSL connections by 2015.

One of the possible reasons for this growth could be the increase in the number of people who use prepaid mobile broadband connections in addition to their fixed line. It is predicted that mobile broadband will grow at a rate of 46% per year, and that the number of mobile broadband connections will reach 148 million by 2014 in Europe, which would amount to half the total connections in the continent.

Matt Hatton, principle analyst with Analysys Mason thinks that much of Europe’s mobile industry growth in the next five years can be attributed to the mobile broadband segment. He believes that there are many benefits with the increase in the number of mobile broadband uk connections, as it could help operators suffering from a flat voice-service revenue growth. Thus, this is an opportunity that no operator would want to miss, and it is going to keep the industry in the green for several years to come.
