One of the disadvantages of traditional marketing is that it often lacks credibility. Why should someone believe you when they know you’re trying to sell them something? However, there are free or inexpensive techniques for gaining business-building, positive exposure through a number of channels that may not be occurring to you or that you may not be taking full advantage of.
1. Send out a press release to the media when your business opens, expands, diversifies, invents something or innovates a process, partners with another business or organization, hires, takes a position on an non-divisive issue, or sponsors an event or a worthy cause.
2. Suggest feature articles and news story ideas to reporters and editors concerning your field or area of expertise. Offer to be interviewed or to provide quotes for an article.
3. Make yourself available as a speaker at Chamber of Commerce meetings, professional associations, community groups, and seminars. Announce your speaking engagement to the press in the form of a news release, phone call, email, or post card.
4. Write a ‘Letter to the Editor’, but avoid taking a controversial position on an issue which could cost you clients. You don’t want to alienate people. Make it a practice to read the editorial pages to see what’s being written about.
5. Teach a class at the local community college or continuing adult education program. It’s a great way to increase your credibility, visibility, and acquire new clients.
6. Become a columnist. Speaking of credibility and visibility, if you can arrange with a print or online publication to run a regular column of yours, especially with a photograph and brief bio at the end, you’ll gain a lot of valuable, free exposure.
7. Word of mouth is the best kind of free and credible advertising. Keep focusing on providing exceptional service and going above and beyond what clients expect, and word of mouth advertising and new business from referrals is virtually guaranteed.
8. Write informative articles that would be helpful to your clients or prospects and post them on your web site. Let people know about the articles in every way you can think of: talk it up, add a one sentence blurb at the end of your outgoing voice mail or answering machine message, include it in updates of your brochures, flyers, business cards, print ads, and broadcast commercials. If you’re editing and uploading the articles yourself (as opposed to having a web designer or search engine optimization expert do it) make sure you liberally sprinkle the article with a few appropriate and repeated key words that would help Internet searchers find your articles. When choosing key words and phrases, think in terms of what a customer or prospective client would enter into a search engine when looking for the topic or service you’re writing about. One website where you can get a list of keyword phrases arranged by popularity (the number of times they’ve been searched) is at Overture.com . Click on ‘Visit the Resource Center’, then go to the Keyword Selector tool.
9. Invite people to sign up for your monthly email bulletin in which you can provide clients and prospects with news, helpful tips related to your business or profession, and new product or service announcements. Four recommendations if you do this: Don’t sign anyone up without their permission, assure subscribers that their email address and other personal information will remain private (have a publicize a privacy policy), tell people they can ‘unsubscribe’ from your list whenever they want to (immediately honor those requests), and avoid making people feel like they’re being inundated with your information and offers. For more information on the responsibilities of email marketers, visit: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buspubs/canspam.htm
While marketing tactics that cost money are a necessary part of almost any strategy, make sure to get the most mileage you can out of techniques that are either free or extremely economical. Remember, even if your marketing budget is tight, there are still plenty of things you can do to increase inquiries, boost referrals, and expand awareness of the unique aspects of your business.

There is no doubt that baby showers are fun and exciting. Baby showers are a great way for the friends, family members and coworkers of the expectant mother to celebrate the creation of a new life.
A pregnancy, whether or not it is a first pregnancy, is always an exciting time in the life of any woman. Celebrating the special time with a baby shower is a long standing tradition.
== Games Bring Excitement To The Baby Shower ==
Another long standing tradition is for the guests at the baby shower to play a number of exciting games. Games are a great way to bring excitement and interest to any baby shower, and there are a number of popular games that everyone in attendance will enjoy.
==Taking The Personality Of The Mother To Be Into Account When Picking The Games ==
For those who are organizing a baby shower, however, it can be difficult to know what games are appropriate. When deciding on the games to be played, it is important to take the personality of the expectant mother into account.
Is she the shy reserved type or does she have a bold and outgoing personality? Would she prefer games that focus on her, or would she rather have games that include everyone in attendance?
While getting the answers to these important questions will always involve some amount of guesswork, one of the best ways to answer them, especially if you do not know the expectant mother very well, is to ask her closest friends and family members.
Asking the people who know the mother to be best is a great way to decide which games will be most appreciated.
== Get Ideas From People You Know ==
Another great way to find the best games for the baby shower is to ask your own friends and family members about baby showers they have attended. Games are a staple of just about every baby shower, so chances are the people you know will have some stories about the best, and worst, baby shower games they have played.
Games can make every baby shower even more exciting than it already is. The key is to make the games inclusive and fun for both the mother to be and her guests.

The Rs.1,30,000 crore Indian textile industry is concerned of rising crude oil prices and fierce competition from China in world trade. The textile industry is less optimistic over their performance in coming quarter than it was in the July-September quarter. This is revealed by the third consecutive survey on Business Confidence of Indian textile industry for the quarter October to December 2005, conducted by YarnsandFibers.
The man-made fiber industry, in particular, is worried on the crude price front while cotton textile segment is content with the bumper cotton crop and low fiber prices. However, the entire textile segment is worried over competition from China, as it has cost advantage over India. Textile companies want Government policies to be favourable and in line those in the neighbouring textile nations. The Government also needs to work on infrastructure, labour and power reforms and friendlier fiscal and export policies to enhance competition. A majority of the firms surveyed have indicated that power supply and infrastructure bottlenecks would impede their performance in the current quarter. With trade barriers removed the textile Ministry has set an ambitious export target of US$50 billion by 2010. To achieve this, the industry needs an investment of about Rs.1,40,000 crore, a colossal task as current investments are just a trickle of the total requirement. Thus an environment has to be made conducive investments to flow.
Talking about domestic demand the Indian economy is posed to grow by 6.8-7.0% in 2005-06 over and above the 6.9% growth recorded in 2004-05. With two consecutive years posting generous growth in income levels, it is obvious that domestic demand is likely to expand significantly. However, inflationary trend may set in led by the high crude oil prices.
The YarnsandFibers’ third consecutive survey on Indian textile business confidence was held in early October. The three business confidence indices
- the YnFx Business Confidence Index (measure of future prospect), YnFx Current Business Status Index (measure of current status) and YnFx Business Margin Expectation Index (measure of pricing input and output) - which emerged from the survey explains the pessimism and constraints textile firms would face to enhance their performance.
The survey results reveal that textile firms are less optimistic over their likely performance in the current quarter of October to December 2005 compared to their aspirations and actual performance in the previous quarter. The YnFx Business Confidence Index for the quarter October to December 2005 stands at 81.6 while the current business status index for the July-September quarter is at 80.3. The Business Confidence Index for July-September quarter was a shade higher at 83.9 and even higher at 86.5 in the June quarter.
The YnFx Business Margin Expectation Index, which measures the firms pricing capabilities for their end product as well as for the inputs, stands at 50.7, implying that the margins from operation would be on average at the same levels.
An increasing number of firms are now indicating that the greatest source for enhancing their performance will be enter new markets with existing products. Developing new products and better pricing capabilities would continue to give them secular growth. A noticeable change is seen in the export destination in this survey. More firms are looking at Europe and USA as well as Middle East as major export destinations.
On the constraints front as many as nearly one-third of the survey respondents are of the opinion that inadequate power supply and infrastructure facilities would impede their growth in the current quarter.

Have you ever been wondering why it takes a webmaster so long to
make changes to your existing site? Do you want to have the
ability to make your own changes and be in control of your own
time? Well the answer to that question is be using a web
building program where you have no technical skills and do the
work yourself. What is more valuable having the knowledge or
paying someone who might not even be doing a good job for you?
The search engines are always changing so you want to be on top
of what sort of criteria they are looking for to give your site
value and traffic.
There are some very important things you want to consider when
putting up web pages. The number one thing is if they are
constructed user friendly. Does the end user appreciate how easy
it is to navigate your site. The purpose of any website is to
drive traffic and help you increase your bottom line. Without
traffic to your website or online business you are completing
wasting your time. You need to find the happy medium and use a
program or learn how to do that yourself. Many web designers
build beautiful web pages but have no clue on how to bring you
the traffic which produces the results that you want.
There are many opinions on software and web development. The

There are two main environmental factors to consider when choosing a lumber species for your deck.
Firstly if you are seeking a softwood species, it will generally require treatment with a chemical preservative to provide the durability required for a long a service life. From time to time concerns have been expressed about the potentially harmful nature of the products used, mainly the potential danger of the chemicals leaching out from the wood. Admittedly this is grey area with conflicting “evidence” being presented to back up claims one way or the other. One of the most common chemical preservatives used in the past has been CCA (copper-chrome-arsenic) and although such products have been used for decades, some countries or regions have now taken steps to ban the use of CCA, at least in public spaces.
In recent years a number of alternative wood preservation products have come on the market which are claimed to have little or no potential harmful consequences. However whether these products will provide the same long term protection of the timber as CCA, remains to be proven.
But the main environmental factor to be considered to is that of the destruction of forests and ensuring the any wood is sourced from forests which are managed responsibly on long term sustainable basis without affecting the surrounding environment and complying with all legal requirements of the country of origin. For all too long, tropical (and other) forests have been decimated to make quick, short term profits with devastating long term consequences. Uncontrolled or illegal logging of forests in the Amazon basin and in Sth East Asia have been of particular concern. Gradually however this situation is changing, although illegal logging is still rampant in many third world countries in particular.
In an attempt to ensure the responsible harvesting and sustainable forestry practices yet assure the ongoing viability of existing forest industries, various international organizations have been set up, the best known of which is probably the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This non profit organization aims to ensure responsible and sustainable management of forests and issues certificates of compliance for lumber or wood products that are harvested or produced from such forests. End products can also be certified by the FSC providing the entire chain from lumber harvesting through processing and production of finished products complies with the regulations and requirements of the FSC.
In recent years an increasing number of countries have set up their own standards and certification procedures. However in many cases the standards and procedures are nowhere near as strict as those of the FSC and to a large extent seem designed to give some quasi government backed assurance that wood is being harvested responsibly and sustainably. For list of forests and companies that are currently certified by the FSC see the web site http://www.fsc.org . Alternatively further information can be obtained from the organization SmartWood http://www.rainforest-alliance.org/ which is an independent non profit forestry certifier accredited by the FSC.

The term Forex is the short form of Foreign Exchange. Any type of financial instrument that is used to make payments between countries is taken to be foreign exchange. Electronic transactions, paper currency, checks and signed, written orders called bills of exchange are all instruments of foreign exchange.
Forex indicates increased or decreased value of an investment caused solely by currency movements. For instance finding US dollar weak or going down, an investor might purchase German money markets.
There are quite a few forex indicators. For instance
1. Average Directional Movement Index (ADX)- ADX is used when we need to know the direction in which the market trend is going i.e. either downward or upward and how strong the trend is. When ADX readings over 25 indicate a trend with higher values indicating stronger trends.
2. Moving Average Convergence or Divergence (MACD)- MACD presents the momentum of the market and the liaison between two moving averages. When MACD crosses the signal line it shows a strong market.
3. Stochastic Oscillator- Stochastic Oscillator indicates the strength and weakness of a market by comparing a closing price range over a period of time. Stochastic reading above 80 depicts the currency is overbought while its reading below 20 indicates that the currency is oversold.
4. Relative Strength Indicator (RSI)- RSI or the Relative Strength Indicator is a scale of 100 that indicates the maximum and the minimum prices over a specified period. The price rising above 70 implies overbought while the price falling below 30 means oversold.
5. Moving Average- Moving average Forex indicator is the average price for a given time interval in relation to other prices during the similar time periods. For instance the closing prices over a 5-day period would have a moving average of the total of the five closing prices divided by five.
6. Bollinger Bands- Bollinger bands comprise of a majority of a currency’s price. There are three lines in the bands out of which the upper and the lower lines stand for the price movement while the middle one represents the average price. When high volatility prevails in the market, greater distance is witnessed between the upper and the lower bands. The time when a band touches one, overbought and oversold conditions are depicted.
Highest liquidity is observed in the forex market. The forex market absorbs trading volumes and per trade size higher than any other market. This liquidity and the freedom to enter and leave the market anytime attract investors to forex.
Forex market is known for its round the clock trading. When Asian market sleeps the European and American markets are awake and vice-versa. This enables the forex traders to take stands despite of time and place.
Another wonderful feature of forex is that in this trading a small margin deposit can control a much larger total contract value. 200:1 leverage makes forex traders buy or sell $100,000 worth of currencies with $500 margin deposit. Thus the traders often end up making hefty profits. Following the principle of ‘buy low and sell high’ forex trading allows traders to generate outstanding profits.
Forex trading is quite cost-effective in the sense that there are much lower transaction costs than other investment products.

In our first part of this article, we raised the question of
whether blogging and its distribution tool, RSS feeds, are
really useful for Internet and Search Engine Promotion. Are RSS
feeds and blogs really the next big thing in web marketing,
distribution, and content creation–or are they just hype? There
is a lot of hype around RSS, blogs, and derivative technologies
like podcasting. But are they really useful to the serious
Internet marketer or are they just the subjects used by
marketers looking to create new products to grab our hard-earned
marketing dollars. We also covered the objections and
reservations from some Internet marketers about the usefulness
of RSS feeds and blogs to the bottom-line of their ebusinesses.
This can be contrasted to our discovery of people like Willie
Crawford and companies like Weblogs, which generate 6- and
7-figure incomes from blogs, RSS, and related technologies with
Google Adsense. To illustrate if the typical Internet
marketers–not just web gurus–can benefit from blogs and RSS
feeds, I promised to share my experiences with my new sites not
yet optimized for the search engines. With virgin websites, I
could observe the traffic pulling power of blogging, pinging,
and RSS. If you would like to read or familiarize yourself with
Part 1 of this article, you can read it at…
http://www.searchengineplan.com/articles/feb06-rss-prt1.htm To
test the effectiveness of the ability of RSS feeds and blogs to
attract and drive traffic to my web properties, I did some quick
and insightful research on the topic. Brandon Hong’s Marketing
Rampage with Blogs and RSS was the resource best enabled me to
understand the techno-jargon associated with blogs and RSS
feeds. Believe me, I have a 10-year background in information
technology, and I can’t make heads or tails out of the alphabet
soup served up by tech geeks on blog and RSS media. Plus, I run
a very busy SEO consultancy and virtual real estate (VRE
Adsense and Affiliate Sites) side business, so I don’t have the
time to muck around in nebulous articles on these topics. If you
even remotely feel like me about the complexity of blogs or RSS,
do yourself a favor and obtain Brandon Hong’s multimedia ebook
of screen-capture videos. You can read a full review of the book
at… http://www.searchengineplan.com/articles/hongrss.htm I
have been blogging for almost 3 years, but RSS feeds have been
harder to grasp in terms of development and marketing. The
easiest way to start blogging is to setup an account with
www.Blogger.com or www.Bloglines.com. Blogger will actually walk
you through the process. Experienced web designers should not
have a problem setting up a www.Blogger.com account. Blogger.com
is actually a good initial choice because it provides an easy
setup for RSS feeds. The setup can be done by going to the
Settings Tab in Blogger, clicking the site feed link, and
filling out the forms. The next issue to consider is the complex
RSS compatibility issue. You can sidestep the decision about
whether to go with RSS version 2.0 or Google’s Atom standard by
“burning your RSS feed” or making them more compatible with all
popular RSS formats with a third party service like
Feedburner.com. After creating your RSS feed in Blogger, you
should have it burned in the Feedburner.com service; it will
guide you through the process. The optimized Feedburner.com RSS
feed is then ready to be submitted to the major RSS directories.
I would suggest creating a few descriptions of your blog and
then submitting both your blog and RSS URLs to the appropriate
RSS and blog directories. My firm fast-tracks blog and RSS feed
promotion by submitting them to about 90 directories that
specialize in this type of media–including Yahoo! and MSN RSS
content services. Both the Blogger.com service and, more
extensively, Feedburner.com can be configured to ping the major
RSS and blog directories. This means they signal or alert these
directories whenever you update posts on your blog in real time.
Perhaps most importantly, you get traffic statistics about your
RSS subscribers and readers. The results of my RSS and blog
traffic research over the last 3 months are amazing! I have been
totally blown away by the research. I am excited about RSS and
blog usage, despite the good and bad news: The bad news:
According to a White paper on blogging, sponsored in part by
Yahoo!, 88% of Internet users don’t know what RSS technology is
and 96% of Internet users stated they do not use it! The good
news: 27% of Internet users experience RSS feed content on their
My Yahoo and MSN web accounts, although they don’t realize it!
Moreover, 4% of Internet users actively use RSS feeds. This
means 31%, or almost one-third (1/3), of Internet users in the
U.S. read RSS feeds. With almost 150 million U.S. Internet users
and 600 million net users worldwide, you do the math on the
large numbers of people reading RSS feeds (even if unwittingly).
More positive stats on RSS and blog usage, according to the Pew
Internet & American life project: - (1) Fully 19% of online
Americans ages 18-29 have created blogs - (2) 11 million
American adults say they have created blogs - (3) 27% of
Internet users reported in November that they read blogs This
translates into 32 million American adults who read blogs This
information shows that RSS and blogs are growing technologies
for serious Internet business people to adapt into their
marketing mix. My personal research over three months showed
that when I regularly updated my blog sites, burned RSS feeds
pinging the major directories increased my traffic a whopping
25%! Blogs, RSS feeds, and articles distributed regularly to
major host sites and distribution services actually rivaled the
traffic of my highly optimized top-ranking SEO and VRE sites.
More importantly, traffic from blog, RSS, and article-driven
traffic actually made twice as much income in sales and Adsense
revenue than my traditional SEO sites. Needless to say, once a
skeptic, I am now a big believer in the power of RSS feeds and
blogs to boost my bottom-line. I will leave you with a
controversial statement for a SEO and Searchpreneur©. Dr. Jakob
Nielsen recently referred to search engines as “the leeches on
the Internet.” He feels “Search engines extract too much of the
Web’s value, leaving too little for the websites that actually
create the content. Liberation from search dependency is a
strategic imperative for both websites and software vendors.”
With Yahoo! and MSN soon to enforce email postage, according to
a recent article by the New York Times, RSS and blogging may
become the best and latest arsenal for small business to
continue to survive and thrive in the Internet economy. To stay
informed on the latest blogging, RSS, and SEO developments,

Shopping online can be both fun and beneficial, but many of us are wisely careful about what it is exactly that we are purchasing. If you’re a car owner and driver in New Jersey and are interested in looking for car insurance online, there are a few things you need to know first.
Did you know that in order to drive legally in most states, drivers are required to purchase a minimum of liability insurance, including property damage and bodily injury? It’s true. And in all states, you are financially responsible for car accidents in which you are involved so you’ll have to show proof that you can cover the financial responsibility. The costs of automobile accidents are usually much higher than the costs covered by the minimum insurance limits set by each state.
New Jersey car owners are required to have bodily injury and property damage liability, as well as personal injury protection (which can cover medical, rehabilitation, and funeral costs, as well as any lost earnings due to the accident - personal injury protection is mandatory in all no-fault states) and uninsured motorist coverage. The minimum liability limits for New Jersey car owners is 15/30/5. Although New Jersey car owners are not required to show their proof of insurance at the time of vehicle registration or registration renewal, they are required to show proof of insurance at the time of an automobile accident and keep such proof of insurance in their vehicles at all times. If at any time a New Jersey car owner is caught without proof of insurance, he or she risks being fined anywhere from $300 to $1,000, being sentenced to community service, and having his or her license suspended for one year.
So, the next time you look online to do some shopping make sure you know exactly what you’re getting, and that what you’re getting is what you need - especially if you’re purchasing New Jersey car insurance online!
